We had a lovely stay over Thanksgiving at the Carriage House. When we arrived, the lights were on and everything was warm and welcoming. The farm has views of the Mountains, and the deck in front of the garage was perfect to watch the sunset. Fairhill Farm was a couple minutes away from Shenandoah, and we used the couple days of our stay to explore Skyline Drive. On the farm itself, there are several little hiking trails good for a morning or evening walk. We really enjoyed the solitude of the farm and would love to come back again!

My friend and I had the most amazing stay here. We’re nature lovers and for our first time in Standardsville, VA this was nature heaven. We loved the beautiful animals, stunning mountain views, and the pool the most. Alton was so kind, responsive, and helpful. We will never stop talking about how incredible our trip was. I wish our trip was longer than 3 days to see even more!
I can’t wait to stay here again one day. It was the perfect getaway and we felt right at home. So thankful for our stay :)

This has to be one of the most beautiful places we stayed at . It has such a peaceful and quiet atmosphere. We loved every single thing about the stay including the hammock which was undoubtedly my favourite spot.

Our host Alton was the sweetest. He helped us before we got there with clear instructions and was super friendly during our stay. He was extremely helpful when I was feeling a little uneasy one of the days and even helped me with meditations. We would totally recommend his place for a romantic getaway!

Truly a wonderful stay. It's so lovely to wake up, open the blinds, and see the mountains. The studio is charming and the fireplace makes it very cozy. If I ever head up to Shenandoah again, this will be my first choice. It's close to Shenandoah, most of the famous hikes are only 45 min away let alone how lovely it is to walk the property.
The hosts and neighbors were incredibly generous and felt very homely. We had run out of salt and pepper and a neighbor came by to provide us with that which was just lovely.

Our stay at the Carriage House was wonderful. The views were gorgeous in the middle of the fall colors. The studio was nice and clean with a great kitchen for us to cook all of our meals. The amenities were exactly what we wanted for a weekend away, with a fire pit and a deck with comfy chairs for sitting and enjoying the foliage. The host provided a binder with useful information, including hiking info for the grounds and emergency plans in case of a power outage.

Our stay here was such a good time. The scenery, the seclusion, the comfortability of the cottage alone made it worth staying. Me and my wife initially booked for 3 nights but ended up wanting to extend for one more because we enjoyed our time so much. We still didn’t want to end up leaving. Mr. Alton made the process to extend super simple and easy for us. He was polite, responsive and was just a good host overall. Most definitely will be booking again in the future.
